Philosophy
By having a positive influence on the whole student we create life long learners.
We of the Pathfinder Program believe:
- We can have a positive impact on students.
- In the full potential, of all students- intellectually, socially, emotionally, and physically.
- That all students possess unique gifts and life experiences that will enhance the quality of learning for everyone.
- In the human need to be a curious, life long learner.
- We see our destiny through the eyes of our students.
- We create optimism.
Mission
We provide multiple pathways for students to identify, develop, and enhance their unique skill sets in a caring and supportive environment.
We of the Pathfinder Program will achieve what we believe through:
- Using multiple pathways and individualized instruction.
- Creating positive and unique learning experiences.
- Providing a trusting and respectful environment.
- Discovery of individual assets and strengths; and then by utilizing creativity, current research, and best practices, we can remedy knowledge gaps and deficits.
- Helping students to develop their personal strengths, build on their inter/intra personal communication skills, forming an identity of self, and learning to value their place in the world.
- Helping students begin to prepare for the transition back to the community, upon entry into our program.
